Banbury Beer & Cider Festival 2016 Postponed

The CAMRA Banbury Beer Festival has been a fixture in May at the Volunteer Reserve Centre (TA Centre) on Oxford Road for the last 8 years. This year however, we're sorry to confirm that the festival won't be taking place in May.
Due to planned building work on the site, it hasn't been possible to secure the venue for the usual May weekend.

Fear not though, this is not a cancellation but merely a postponment; 2016 will still see a CAMRA Beer and Cider Festival in Banbury!
The plan is to hold a winter themed festival on 18th and 19th November, at the usual venue the Volunteer Reserve Centre.

Festival organiser Tim Wilkins says:
"The change of date will enable the festival to showcase a lot more winter type beers than usual, this time of year always provides the opportunity for breweries to produce seasonable brews to sustain us through the cold months and it will be a great chance for the beer lovers of North Oxfordshire to try a range of beer not usually available during the usual May Festival. The other good things about the BBCF will obviously continue, with live music, food and friendly enthusiastic staff on the menu again."

Apologies to those who were looking forward to the May event. We fully intend to return to the usual May dates for 2017, but in the meantime we hope to see you at the Banbury Winter Beer and Cider Festival in November!

These are the top six pubs (in alphabetical order) by beer scores submitted by the membership over 2015.
Branch members can vote for the Pub of the Year by having a drink in all six and getting their voting form signed, then putting the pubs in order of preference, and sending it back to be counted!
Watch this space for the result next month...

Bell (Lower Heyford), Bitter & Twisted (Chippy), Black Prince (Woodstock),
Horse&Groom (Caulcott), Peyton Arms (Stoke Lyne), White Lion (Fewcott)
Is your favourite pub not in the list?
Did you submit any beer scores last year?
If not, that may be why! More beer scores = better information about the branch pubs.
Visit the branch website scoring page, or WhatPub to submit your scores.
